Privacy Mode — safe screen-sharing

Audience: coaches. When you share your screen — in a session, a workshop, or a demo — other clients' identities shouldn't be on show. Privacy Mode makes them maskable.

The problem it solves

A coach often has many clients open in the app. If you screen-share, the other clients' names and emails are visible — and in some settings (e.g. two competing athletes) that's a real confidentiality breach. Privacy Mode is a presentation-layer guard: it changes what's displayed, separate from who can access what.

How to use it

  1. Pick your client privately first — open the coachee you're going to work with.
  2. Turn on Privacy Mode — the toggle in the sidebar footer (it shows Privacy ON / OFF). Do this before you start sharing.
  3. While it's on: the active/open client shows in full, and every other client masks to initials (and their email is hidden). You can still work normally — just the other identities are concealed.
  4. Turn it off when you're done sharing.

Always-confidential clients

Some clients should be masked even with Privacy Mode off. Mark a client confidential and give them an alias (e.g. "Fencer A"); they stay masked all the time, and the alias is how you pick them while masked. Use this for the highest-sensitivity cases (competing athletes, public figures) so there's no "I forgot to switch it on" risk.

Protecting your content (stop casual copying)

Separate from hiding names, MyZone also deters people from lifting your material. When a coachee is reading an exercise, an imagery/visualization script, or an affirmation — and when you browse the exercise library — the text can't be selected, copied, or right-clicked.

  • It's a deterrent, not DRM — a determined person can still take a screenshot; the goal is to stop casual copy-paste of the content you and MyZone author.
  • It applies to read views only. When you're creating or editing content, the editor stays fully selectable so you can work normally.

Good to know

  • "Collapse" and "Hide coachee list" are not the name-masking. Those two buttons on My Coachees only fold or hide the roster to save screen space. The initials masking is the Privacy toggle — turn it on to change other clients to initials and hide their emails.
  • It's display-only. Privacy Mode hides names on screen; it does not change permissions or who can open whom — that's the access-control layer, which is always on.
  • Build the habit: choose your client → Privacy Mode on → share. It's quickest to leave confidential clients permanently aliased so the protection doesn't depend on remembering.
