Reading reports¶
Audience: coaches & operators. The data MyZone surfaces per coachee.
Find these on a coachee's profile (My Coachees → select a coachee); coachees see their own under My Reports.
- IPS (Ideal Performance State) — arousal (0–10) vs performance (0–10) per competition, plotted as a scatter with a trend line and the coachee's optimal zone. Coachees record the check-ins; coaches read the chart.
- Toughness Check-in (B3) — the coachee's self check-in on the three basic mental skills (Goals, Imagery, Self-talk, 0–10), shown as the three subscale scores plus a trend line.
- 5C Evaluations — Composure, Concentration, Confidence, Cope-ability, Cohesion (1–10 each), shown as a radar with trends over time (coach-administered). The 5C self-profile now lives in the 5C Mental Toughness Profiling (assign it, or broadcast it in a workshop).
- Performance Profile — current vs target ratings across categories (Physical, Technical, Tactical, Mental + custom).
- Wellness & Mindfulness — coachee self check-ins (PERMA+ wellbeing) with charting and a mindfulness subscale report.
Each chart is responsive and supports date-range filtering where relevant.
The IPS Magic Number & IZOF¶
On the IPS report, the Magic Number is the arousal level where the coachee performs best (the peak of the curve) and the IZOF is the small band around it — their Ideal Zone of Optimal Functioning. How they show depends on the data:
- A confirmed number — shown once the coachee's competitions form a clear peak (performance rises then falls as arousal increases). This is the real optimum.
- A provisional number (tagged Provisional, in amber) — shown when there are 3+ competitions but no clear peak yet (e.g. they keep performing better the more amped they get). It's the arousal where they've performed best so far — useful, but not a confirmed optimum. The hint says which end of the arousal range to log next to reveal the peak.
- "–" — shown only with fewer than 3 competitions. There isn't a pattern to read yet; log more.
The Sleep/Panic calibration anchors pin the ends of the curve on the chart and refine a confirmed number, but they don't count toward "enough data" — that gate is real competitions only. So to move a coachee from provisional to confirmed, get competitions logged across a range of arousal levels, including calmer, lower-arousal ones.
Group reports — reading the range bars¶
Group reports (a team profiling report, or the group report inside a live workshop) show one bar per factor/question instead of a line per person. Each bar reads the same way:
- The shaded indigo band is the group's range — from the lowest to the highest score.
- The vertical marker line is the average.
- The bar sits on a fixed 0-to-scale axis (e.g. 0–5 or 0–10), so bars are directly comparable across factors — a fuller band/further-right marker genuinely means a higher score.
So a wide band = the group is spread out; a narrow band = they're clustered; and the marker tells you where the middle sits. The workshop group report is anonymous ("no names shown"), so it's safe to project to the room.
